The Transportation Systems and Design Masters of Science program at ArtCenter is a multi-disciplinary design major which expands knowledge and skill around solving multi-modal transportation challenges. It is a research-based, human centered approach to system design, emphasizing ethnographic research, interpreting policy, identifying trends and opportunities, mapping user journeys, story boarding and prototyping. Practice and application of future scenario plotting and exploration as well as strategic planning and creating innovative business models. The Program prioritizes sustainable design literacy and practice and leverages a wide range of tools and methods to express ideas and create comprehensive design strategies, briefs and business models. Thesis work broadly interrogates LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and ES&G (Environmental Social Governance) and logistics but seeks to expand the definition of sustainability to include and elevate the impact on people and communities.
